EDUCATIONAL METHODOLOGY

Learning extends beyond the classroom. At the Amud Aish Memorial Museum (AAMM), we educate and inspire by engaging visitors through multi-dimensional learning models. In an object-based learning approach, students learn about the Holocaust by exploring original historical artifacts and documents. At every stage of the AAMM experience, we encourage inquiry-based conversations that foster curriculum connections and critical thinking.

High-school students can visit the AAMM's Mill Basin location to learn about the Holocaust and Jewish heritage. Students will explore primary sources and participate in activities facilitated by AAMM educators. School visits are content-rich experiences that support the New York State social studies standards and align with Common Core Standards.

Ask about our resources to prepare your students for their visit and continue the conversation back in the classroom!
